Introduction to website content

In each of the ExponentHR Onboarding templates, you can create a unique web experience for your candidates. As one of the first interactions that they’ll have with your organization, this can help build excitement. Not to mention, websites showcase your brand, highlight the culture, and build the foundation for each employee’s ongoing engagement.

Consider your objectives in building out your website content:

PROMOTE YOUR BRAND

The website is the first internal impression a candidate will get of your organization – not just what’s presented in slick marketing, but rather how the company sees and treats its employees. This is where you can present the company’s core values.

COMPANY CULTURE

How does your company differ from similar organizations? What sets it apart in its vision both internally and to the broader community. According to Deloitte, 94% of executives and 88% of employees believe a distinct workplace culture is important to business success, so it’s imperative that you communicate this to your hew hires.

TEAM ONBOARDING

You can give your new hires a head start by introducing them to the members of their team via profiles on the website.

OFFICE ORIENTATION

New hires can be armed with information about their office, including the surrounding area, to reduce anxiety about their first day. For example, you can feature popular restaurants near your company.

Using the Website Content

Since every new employee will interact with this website before their start date, take your objectives into consideration. For this demo, we’ll start adding the necessary sections while also branding the site.

In the example above, we’ve set up a section where you can add an employee’s to-do list. This is the default, and will automatically show up in the upper left-hand corner. You can:

  • Add, move and modify additional sections
  • Drag and drop any section by clicking onto the left icon in the title
  • Edit or delete any section by clicking onto the pencil or trash can icons

Example of Section Content

VIDEOS

You may begin by creating a video from your president or CEO, welcoming that new employee to the company as a team member.

TEXT BOX

You can create messages within text boxes to highlight important information. For example, telling employees whom to ask for on their first day or a reminder that yours is a casual work environment.

LINKS

You can include links to other websites like yours, industry-specific sites, or maps. You could also provide fun links, like for popular lunch spots within walking distance.

TEAM INTRODUCTIONS

Let new hires get to know one another before their first day by posting mini profiles. You can list their job titles and descriptions along with their pictures. That way, new hires can put a face with a name before they arrive on their first day.
